وضو به معنی شستن صورت و دست‌ها با آب، از آداب و عبادات دین اسلام و از مقدمات نماز است. وضو گرفتن همچنین پیش از طواف کعبه و مسح نمودن خط قرآن واجب است. مسلمانان وضو گرفتن پیش از رفتن به مسجد، و نیز وضو گرفتن پیش از خواب را مستحب می‌دانند.

یَا أَیُّهَا الَّذِینَ آمَنُوا إِذَا قُمْتُمْ إِلَی الصَّلَاةِ فَاغْسِلُوا وُجُوهَکُمْ وَأَیْدِیَکُمْ إِلَی الْمَرَافِقِ وَامْسَحُوا بِرُءُوسِکُمْ وَأَرْجُلَکُمْ إِلَی الْکَعْبَیْنِ
O ye who believe! when ye prepare for prayer, wash your faces, and your hands (and arms) to the elbows; Rub your heads (with water); and your feet to the ankles.
ای کسانی که ایمان آورده‌اید، چون به [عزم] نماز برخیزید، صورت و دست‌هایتان را تا آرنج بشویید؛ و مسح کنید قسمتی از سر را [نه تمام آن را] و پاهای خودتان را تا دو قوزکِ [هر دو پا]
شروط صحت وضو :
Correct Wudu conditions :
1- نیت
نیت به معنای قصد انجام دادن با انگیزه انجام امر خداوند است.
1- Niyyat (intention)
It means intend to make Wudu to doing GOD's commands.
2- اباحه
آب وضو، ظرفِ آب وضو و مکانی که فرد در آنجا وضو می‌گیرد باید مباح باشد؛ یعنی غصبی نباشد.
2- Ebahe (allowance)
The water and The place that you do Wudu with or there must be mobah and mustn't be ghasbi. It means the owner of water or that place must be satisfied that Wudu is being done with his/her ownership.
3- ترتیب
ترتیب بدین معناست که در وضو باید اول باید نیت کنیم سپس صورت شسته شود، سپس دست راست و سپس دست چپ و مسح سر و مسح پا. تا زمانی که مرحلهٔ قبل به‌صورت کامل و صحیح انجام نشود، نباید به سراغ مرحلهٔ بعد رفت.
3- Tartib (arrangement)
It means you must do all of the steps of Wudu in order.
4- موالات
موالات به‌معنی عدم فاصلهٔ زیاد مابین انجام هر دو عمل وضوست؛ مثلاً نباید مابین شستن صورت و شستن دست راست، فاصلهٔ زیادی به‌وجود آید. همچنین بین شستن دست راست و دست چپ و الی آخر
4- mowalat
It means you must do all of the steps of Wudu continously without a long break among the steps.
5- مباشرة
مباشرة به معنای آن است که فرد باید خودش این فعل (وضو) را انجام دهد یعنی نمی‌شود دیگری او را وضو بدهد یا مثلاً آب وضو روی دستش بریزد بلکه باید خود فرد به تنهایی انجام دهد
5- mubashiruh
It means that you should make Wudu personally and without help of others. For example It's not correct to another person make Wudu for you or He/She cannot pour water for you to you make Wudu. You should pour water and do all of the steps of Wudu personally.
6- طهارت اعضای وضو
طهارت اعضای وضو بدین معناست که مواضع وضو مثل صورت و دست‌ها و روی پا نباید با چیزی نجس شده باشند و باید پاک باشند
6- Organs that you make Wudu by them (face, hands, the skin on the feet , hairs) must be clean. It means they mustn't be dirty by najis things.
7- عدم مانع
عدم مانع یعنی مانعی برای رسیدن آب به پوست و مکان‌هایی که باید روی آن‌ها آب ریخته شود وجود نداشته باشد.
7- On the organs that you pure water on them, mustn't be obstacles like glue or cosmetics.
چگونگی وضو گرفتن :
How to make Wudu :
1- نیت
نیت میکنیم : وضو میگیرم قُربَةً اِلَی الله
1- Niyyat (intention)
First, You must say I make Wudu, قُربَةً اِلَی الله - ghorbatan elallah (It means I do this to become closer to GOD.)
2- شستن صورت
در این مرحله با دست راست از بالای پیشانی (محل رویش مو) تا زیر چانه آب می ریزیم و از بالا به پایین می شوییم که از ابتدای ریختن آب تا انتهای دست کشیدن بر صورت، یکبار شستن به حساب می آید.
شستن اول واجب و شستن دوم مستحب اما دفعه سوم حرام است.
2- Face washing
With your right hand, pour water from above the forehead (where hais grows) to down the chin Then wash your face with your right hand from up to down. This is the first wash.
The first wash is wajib (obligatory), The second one is mustahab (It's better to do) and the third one and more is haram (You mustn't do this)
3- شستن دست راست
با دست چپ از بالای آرنج دست راست تا پایین انگشت ها آب ریخته و سپس از بالا به پایین می شوییم که از ابتدای ریختن آب تا انتهای دست کشیدن بر دست راست، یکبار شستن به حساب می آید.
شستن اول واجب و شستن دوم مستحب اما دفعه سوم حرام است.
3-Washing the right hand
With your left hand, pour water from the above of Elbow to the end of the right hand, Then wash from the up to down with your left hand. This is the first wash.
The first wash is wajib (obligatory), The second one is mustahab (It's better to do) and the third one and more is haram (You mustn't do this)
4- شستن دست چپ
با دست راست از بالای آرنج دست چپ تا پایین انگشت ها آب ریخته و سپس از بالا به پایین می شوییم که از ابتدای ریختن آب تا انتهای دست کشیدن بر دست چپ، یکبار شستن به حساب می آید.
شستن اول واجب و شستن دوم مستحب اما دفعه سوم حرام است.
4-Washing the left hand
With your right hand, pour water from the above of Elbow to the end of the left hand, Then wash from the up to down with your left hand. This is the first wash.
The first wash is wajib (obligatory), The second one is mustahab (It's better to do) and the third one and more is haram (You mustn't do this)
5-مسح سر
در این مرحله روی سر را با تریِ آب وضو که در دست راست مانده، با حداقل از سه انگشت دست راست خود، از بالا به پایین (از انتهای سر تا پیشانی) مسح می‌کنند. در این مرحله سر باید ساکن و بی حرکت باشد.
در این مرحله محل مسح سر باید کاملا خشک باشد.
در این مرحله نباید دست راست به پیشانی برسد و به اصطلاح آب صورت و مسح مخلوط شوند.
در این مرحله اگر دست راست خشک شده بود می توان از آب باقی مانده بر روی ابرو یا ریش یا سبیل برای تر کردن دست استفاده کرد.
5- Mas'h (anoint) of the head
In this step with the rest of water that remains on your right hand drag at least three fingers of your right hand from the up to the down of your head ( from the end of the head to the forehead). In this step your right hand mustn't touch your forehead and the water of your forehead mustn't mix by water of forehead. In this step The head must be immobile.
In this step the place of mas'h must be dry.
In this step, If your right hand was dry You can use the rest of water that remains on your eyebrow or beard or moutache.
6 - مسح پای راست
در این مرحله روی پا را با تریِ آب وضو که در دست راست مانده، پای راست را از سرِ انگشت‌ها تا مفصل (قوزک) مسح میکنیم. در این مرحله پای راست باید ثابت و بی حرکت باشد.
در این مرحله محل مسح پای راست باید کاملا خشک باشد.
در این مرحله اگر دست راست خشک شده بود می توان از آب باقی مانده بر روی ابرو یا ریش یا سبیل برای تر کردن دست استفاده کرد.
6- Mas'h (anoint) of the right foot
In this step with the rest of water that remains on your right hand drag from the end of the fingers of the right foot to the ankle. In this step The right foot must be immobile.
In this step the place of mas'h must be dry.
In this step, If your right hand was dry You can use the rest of water that remains on your eyebrow or beard or moutache.
7 - مسح پای چپ
در این مرحله روی پا را با تریِ آب وضو که در دست چپ مانده، پای چپ را از سرِ انگشت‌ها تا مفصل (قوزک) مسح میکنیم. در این مرحله پای چپ باید ثابت و بی حرکت باشد.
در این مرحله محل مسح پای چپ باید کاملا خشک باشد.
در این مرحله اگر دست چپ خشک شده بود می توان از آب باقی مانده بر روی ابرو یا ریش یا سبیل برای تر کردن دست استفاده کرد.
7- Mas'h (anoint) of the left foot
In this step with the rest of water that remains on your left hand drag from the end of the fingers of the left foot to the ankle. In this step The left foot must be immobile
In this step the place of mas'h must be dry.
In this step, If your left hand was dry You can use the rest of water that remains on your eyebrow or beard or moutache.
مبطلات وضو :
مبطلات وضو مواردی هستند که وضو را باطل کرده و فرد بعد از آن برای انجام اعمال عبادی دوباره باید وضو بگیرد.
Wudu Mubtalat (invalidations) :
They are some works that invalid Wudu and after them you should make Wudu again.
1و2- دفع ادرار و مدفوع
1,2- Defecation or urination
3و4- باد معده و باد روده
3,4- Odorous or audible emissions of flatulence
5- خواب
5- Sleeping
6- بیهوشی
6- Anesthesia
7- مستی
7- drunkenness (Alcohol intoxication) (alcohol poisoning) :
is the negative behavior and physical effects due to the recent drinking of alcohol.
8- جنابت :
بعد از جنابت انسان نیازمند غسل نیز می باشد.
8-Junub:
is an Islamic term meaning ritually impure due to sexual intercourse or seminal discharge. A person in such a state needs to take a bath in order to become ritually pure and be able to perform his prayers. A person while in a state of janaba cannot offer his/her daily salat (prayer) or enter a mosque (even though there is difference of opinion.)
